Job summary

Temcon Concrete in Arizona is seeking a reliable Concrete Finisher to place, level, finish, and cure concrete on construction sites, ensuring quality and compliance with safety standards.

The role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, setting forms, managing curing, and maintaining clean, safe work areas. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Concrete finishing experience in commercial or civil construction.
• Knowledge of finishing techniques and curing methods.
• Familiarity with OSHA construction safety standards (29 CFR 1926).
• Ability to read plans and elevations.

Job description

The Concrete Finisher is responsible for placing, finishing, and curing concrete on Arizona construction projects. This role ensures concrete surfaces meet quality, safety, and specification requirements while complying with company policies, OSHA standards, and Arizona construction regulations.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Place, level, smooth, and finish poured concrete using hand and power tools
• Screed, float, trowel, edge, and broom concrete surfaces to specified finish
• Set forms, grade sites, and assist with concrete placement as needed
• Apply curing and sealing compounds
• Monitor concrete during curing process to prevent defects
• Repair surface imperfections such as cracks, chips, and rough spots
• Read and follow blueprints, grade stakes, and supervisor instructions
• Maintain clean and safe work areas
• Perform daily equipment and tool inspections

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Concrete finishing experience in commercial or civil construction

Knowledge of concrete mix designs, finishing techniques, and curing methods

Familiarity with OSHA construction safety standards (29 CFR 1926)

Ability to read plans and jobsite elevations

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and bend for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work outdoors in Arizona weather, including extreme heat and sun exposure
• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
• Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and wet concrete
• Overtime, weekends, and early start times may be required
