Job summary

Gray & Son Inc. is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our construction crew. You will smooth and finish concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, and curbs to precise textures and tolerances in compliance with project specs.

• Smooth and finish concrete surfaces to specified textures using hand floats, trowels, and abrading tools.
• Signal and coordinate with concrete deliverer to position truck and distribute concrete.
• Spread concrete into forms with rake or shovel and level to required depth.
• Level and finish surfaces with screed and floats to achieve uniform texture and strength.
• Mold expansion joints and edges; apply coloring powder or aggregate as specified.
• Repair rough or defective spots with fresh concrete or epoxy patching as needed.
• Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms; perform other duties as assigned.

Description

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The concrete finisher smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures by performing the following duties.

• Signals concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete.
• Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.
• Spreads concrete into sections of forms with rake or shovel.
• Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, with hand held screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.
• Smooths, and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
• Finishes concrete surfaces, or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish.
• Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
• Molds expansion joints and edges.
• Sprinkles colored stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce prescribed finish.
• Produces rough concrete surface with broom.
• Mixes cement with hoe or concrete-mixing machine.
• Directs subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.
• Breaks up and repairs old concrete surfaces.
