Michels Corporation is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator / Project Manager to support delivery of complex projects from pre-construction through completion. The role focuses on accurate estimating, securing work, and managing budgets and schedules while coordinating execution and maintaining strong client relationships.

Ideal candidates bring a bachelor’s degree in construction management and 5+ years of heavy civil estimating experience, with knowledge of earthwork, utilities, roadway work, site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent
• 5+ years of heavy civil estimating experience
• Experience with earthwork, underground utilities, roadway, site development, concrete or similar
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of estimating and scheduling software (HCSS, B2W)
• Valid driver license and willingness to travel for jobsite visits

We are seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator / Project Manager to support the successful delivery of heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction through project completion. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates, securing work, managing budgets and schedules, coordinating project execution, and building strong client relationships. It is essential to be forward thinking, performance driven and quality focused. Critical for success are the abilities to work independently and produce highly accurate work in a timely manner.

What it takes:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or equivalent degree from a 4‑year college or university
• 5+ years of related heavy civil construction estimating experience, or equivalent combination
• Experience with earthwork, underground utilities, roadway, site development, concrete, or other infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of estimating and scheduling software (HCSS, B2W)
• Must posses a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record
• Position requires travel for jobsite visits, pre-bid meetings, and pre‑construction meeting

This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Expected Salary Range: $105,000 USD - $158,000 USD
