Job summary

Gulf Coast Services in Houston is seeking an experienced Commercial Concrete Estimator to develop accurate, competitive bids for concrete scopes on multifamily and commercial projects, with strong takeoff and constructability focus. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of estimating experience, proven success with multifamily work, and proficiency with tools like On-Screen Takeoff or PlanSwift.

You’ll collaborate with PMs, subs, and owners to win bids.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of concrete estimating experience in commercial or multifamily construction.
• Experience on multifamily projects (mid-rise, garden-style, podium, or wrap-style preferred).
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Measure Square, PlanSwift, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple bids.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial concrete scopes including structural concrete, slab on grade foundations, flatwork, and site concrete
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify scope, potential risks, and VE options
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Coordinate with project managers and field superintendents to ensure estimate accuracy and constructability
• Track bid results and maintain a database of unit costs and historical pricing
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as needed
• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, and owners

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Concrete Estimator to join our growing team in Houston. This is a critical role responsible for developing accurate, competitive bids on concrete scopes, with a strong focus on multifamily projects. The ideal candidate brings deep field knowledge, sharp takeoff skills, and a proven track record of winning work in the commercial concrete market.
