Job summary

J.J. Barney Construction in Rochester Hills, MI, is seeking experienced Concrete Carpenters to perform a range of duties essential for safe and durable concrete installation.

You will build and dismantle formwork, set up shoring, place and finish concrete, and follow directions precisely, with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of concrete formwork and shoring techniques.
• Experience with concrete placement, curing, and finishing.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Prior experience as a Concrete Carpenter preferred.

Overview

We are looking to employ experienced Concrete Carpenters to perform a range of duties that are crucial for safe and successful concrete installation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

At J.J. Barney Construction, you will have responsibilities based on the construction project’s needs, but they will typically include, but may not be limited to:

• Building and dismantling concrete formwork, shoring, and scaffolding systems
• Using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and small equipment
• Placing and securing steel reinforcement bars or mesh within concrete forms
• Placing, finishing, and curing concrete foundations, flatwork, and sitework

Experience and Skills Required:

• Knowledge of concrete formwork and shoring techniques.
• Knowledge of concrete placement, curing, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks that may include kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy items.
• Strong work ethic with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional work.
• Ability to carefully follow written and verbal directions.
• Prior experience as a Concrete Carpenter or similar role is preferred.
