Job description

The primary focus of the Commercial Concrete Carpenter is to perform maintenance, repairs, applications, and installations associated with company commercial concrete construction projects for foundations, columns, walls, slabs, and site work. This position is expected to work within a 90-mile radius of the city of Pittsburgh, and will be an employee of the Pittsburgh, PA office location.

What you'll do:

  1. Ability to operate all types of woodworking equipment and hand tools.
  2. Work with and adapt sheathing goods to perform the expected concrete finish.
  3. Have knowledge of concrete forming systems for the above-described concrete tasks.
  4. Perform demolition work on project site.
  5. Safely erect scaffolding and forming systems for concrete construction activities.
  6. Maintain production quantities as outlined by the project schedule.
  7. Assist crews with placing concrete in footings, columns, walls, slabs, and site work.
  8. Respond in an expeditious and timely manner to all work requests regarding carpentry expertise.
  9. Assist in loading and unloading building material.
  10. Provide input on jobsite logistics, organization, layout, equipment, and manpower utilization.
  11. Clean project site and maintain order with all tools and equipment.
  12. Operate equipment such as man-lifts, scissor lifts safely and as needed to perform daily activities.
  13. Have knowledge of foundations of structures for concrete pours.
  14. Construct and form grade beams, slab on grade, columns and panels, edge forms for concrete pours.
  15. Mold, shape or form wood or plastic forms to pour concrete.
  16. Perform clean-up procedures.
  17. Adhere to comprehensive project safety and security programs as defined in the company safety program in accordance with all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  18. Additional tasks as necessary and/or assigned.
