Bauman Landscape and Construction | Bauman Redi-Mix is seeking a Concrete Batch Person to manage volumetric fleet batching and ensure timely, quality concrete production. The role is based in Northern California with a hybrid schedule, coordinating with dispatch, drivers, and field crews.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on batching experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to forecast material needs.

Qualifications

• Experience batching concrete or operating a concrete plant.
• Strong attention to detail for consistent mixes in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license; loader experience and bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsabilités

• Review upcoming concrete orders and plan material needs (cement, sand, rock, admixtures, colors) to meet demand.
• Plan daily batching, trucks, and driver assignments in coordination with dispatch to keep deliveries on schedule.
• Check in with drivers during batching to maintain consistency, accuracy, and product quality, working with QC staff when issues arise.
• Monitor cement, aggregate, admixture, and other material inventories and trigger reorders before shortages impact production.
• Perform routine plant inspections, identify maintenance or equipment issues, and communicate them quickly to avoid downtime.

Bauman Landscape and Construction | Bauman Redi-Mix has been serving Northern California since 1977. We are an established, family-owned general engineering contractor with operations in concrete, grading, underground utilities, demolition, landscaping, and site development.

Through Bauman Redi-Mix, we supply concrete throughout the Bay Area using volumetric mixers that allow us to produce concrete efficiently and adjust mix designs based on specific project requirements. Our concrete operation plays a critical role in keeping construction projects on schedule across the region.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Concrete Batch Person to keep our volumetric truck fleet supplied, on time, and producing quality concrete. This is a hands-on, full-time role based in Northern California with a hybrid schedule, working onsite 12 days per week and closely with dispatch, drivers, and field crews.

What You'll Do

• Review upcoming concrete orders for the week and plan material needs (cement, sand, rock, admixtures, colors) to meet demand.

What Success Looks Like

• Within the first 36 months, you are independently planning daily and weekly batching needs so trucks arrive on site with the right mix, at the right time.
• Material stockouts and last-minute scrambles are minimized because you consistently forecast and monitor inventory levels.
• Batch tickets, production records, and mix documentation are accurate, organized, and available when needed.
• Drivers, dispatch, QC, and field teams view you as a reliable go-to person who keeps production running smoothly and safely.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience batching concrete, operating a concrete plant, or working in ready-mix production, ideally with strong knowledge of mix designs, aggregates, cement, and admixtures.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce consistent mixes while working efficiently in a fast-paced construction and production environment.
• Mechanically inclined, comfortable spotting basic equipment or maintenance issues, and able to work safely around trucks, loaders, heavy equipment, and moving machinery.
• Clear, dependable communicator who can coordinate with drivers, dispatch, field crews, and supervisors, is organized, takes ownership of daily responsibilities, and can use basic computer and batching/production software. A valid driver's license is required; loader experience and bilingual English/Spanish are a plus.
