Job summary

Thomas Concrete, Inc. is seeking a Concrete Delivery Professional to batch concrete, ensure quality control and environmental compliance, and assist in plant yard operations.

The role supports production demands with flexibility for long hours, weekends, and potential assignment to multiple locations across the Carolinas. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced plant environment, demonstrate initiative, and contribute to a safe, efficient batching process.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience and/or training.
• A working knowledge of the programming functions of all current plant systems.
• An understanding of all aspects of concrete production and the types of products produced.
• An understanding of QC/QA for the ready-mix concrete industry.
• Must possess a DOT batch card or the ability to obtain one.
• Knowledge of production equipment, production processes, and maintenance programs.
• A commitment to team concepts and a sense of ownership and urgency.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with all managers, employees, vendors, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the highest standard of quality and safety in all areas of production from manufacturing to shipment.
• Performs the concrete batching operation.
• Assists the plant manager in maintaining proper stock inventories (raw materials, machinery/vehicle parts, etc.).
• Assists in performing required plant environmental inspections and documenting properly.
• Performs air checks and moisture checks.
• Assists in maintaining a clean working area.
• Must be able to open, close, and work Saturdays alone.
• Must be able to run front end loader and pump tankers when needed.
• Required to work a schedule that varies from week to week, long hours during peak season, and weekends.
• May be required to work at more than one location.
