Job summary

Roadway Concepts is seeking an experienced construction professional to join our field crew installing ADA detectable warnings and performing related sidewalk and pavement work across Florida.

This role requires real construction experience; hands-on training is provided and independence develops with time. Starting pay ranges from $19-$22/hour, with full-time hours and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in concrete, civil/site construction, roadway construction, underground utilities/piping, paving, or grading is strongly preferred.
• Concrete finishers, experienced civil crew members, and individuals with foreman or crew-lead experience are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of ADA detectable warnings/truncated domes is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install ADA detectable warnings/truncated domes on curb ramps and sidewalks
• Install resin/liquid-applied systems and hard ADA mats
• Perform sidewalk grinding and minor concrete/asphalt pavement repairs
• Prepare installation areas and properly mix and handle installation materials
• Review plans, maps, and job information to identify locations and scope
• Take accurate field measurements and record quantities, locations, and work performed
• Take required before, during, and after photos of work performed
• Upload job photos and documentation through our company app
• Load/unload tools, equipment, and materials for each project
• Drive company box trucks to/from jobsites
• Keep trucks and equipment clean and organized
• Maintain clean and professional jobsites
• Work independently or with a small field crew

Roadway Concepts is looking for an experienced construction professional to join our field crew installing ADA detectable warnings and performing related sidewalk and pavement work throughout Florida.

We are looking for someone with real construction experience - not someone brand new to the industry.

Experience in concrete, civil/site construction, roadway construction, underground utilities/piping, paving, or grading is strongly preferred. Concrete finishers, experienced civil crew members, and individuals with foreman or crew-lead experience are encouraged to apply.

You do not need to already know how to install our specific products. We provide hands-on training. What we do need is someone who understands how construction jobsites operate, is dependable, pays attention to detail, and can eventually work independently and take responsibility for completing assigned work correctly.

What You'll Do

• Install ADA detectable warnings/truncated domes on curb ramps and sidewalks
• Install both resin/liquid-applied systems and hard ADA mats
• Perform sidewalk grinding and minor concrete/asphalt pavement repairs
• Prepare installation areas and properly mix and handle installation materials
• Review plans, maps, and job information to identify locations and understand the scope of work
• Take accurate field measurements of completed work and clearly record quantities, locations, and work performed for submission to the office
• Take required before, during, and after photos of work performed
• Upload job photos and required documentation through our company app
• Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials needed for each project
• Drive company box trucks to and from jobsites
• Keep company trucks, tools, equipment, and materials clean and organized
• Maintain clean and professional jobsites
• Work independently or as part of a small field crew

Experience We’re Looking For

• Concrete pouring or finishing
• Sidewalks, curb ramps, curb and gutter, or other concrete flatwork
• Civil/site construction
• Roadway construction
• Underground utility or piping crews
• Paving or grading
• ADA curb ramp construction
• Detectable warnings/truncated domes
• Construction foreman or crew‑lead experience

Knowing what an ADA detectable warning/truncated dome is strongly preferred.

The ability to read and understand roadway, grading, paving, and/or site plans is a major plus.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - REQUIRED
• Reliable personal transportation to and from work - REQUIRED
• Working cell phone with active service - REQUIRED
• Previous construction experience
• Ability to accurately measure and document completed field work
• Comfortable using a smartphone/app for clocking in and out, job information, photos, and documentation
• Comfortable driving company box trucks
• Able to safely perform physical outdoor construction work
• Able to lift, bend, kneel, and work on your feet throughout the day
• Comfortable working outdoors in Florida heat and changing weather conditions
• Dependable and able to report to work early
• Flexible with daily end times
• Willing to travel for occasional out-of-town projects and overnight stays

Schedule

Early mornings are part of this job.

Our workdays are based on the projects scheduled for that day. We typically start early in the morning and work until the scheduled work is completed or until weather, site conditions, or darkness prevent us from continuing.

This is not a standard 9-to-5 position. Applicants must have flexibility with their daily schedule.

Some projects require travel within Florida and occasional overnight stays. Company-related travel expenses are covered.

Training & Opportunity

Roadway Concepts is a small company specializing in a specific area of civil construction. We provide extensive training because we want our installers to fully understand the work - not simply follow someone around forever.
