As part of a 24/7 proprietary security team, you will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment at Raymond James. This role involves security and concierge guest services for our on-site conference and experience center. Responsibilities include physical security, electronic access control, visitor management, CCTV, and life safety systems. You will interact constantly with associates and guests, maintaining a Service 1st approach with a concierge feel.
Job Description
Follows established procedures to perform routine tasks and receives guidance for non-routine tasks, demonstrating sound decision-making. Independent judgment is required for unusual circumstances. Resolves questions and problems, referring new issues to appropriate personnel. Assignments include posts, patrols, rounds, security desks, and more.
Responsibilities
- Physical security and protection of personnel and assets.
- Patrol assigned buildings and grounds to deter criminal acts.
- Monitor associate and visitor movements.
- Investigate and record reported incidents.
- Report safety and fire hazards observed during patrols.
- Verify employee and visitor parking decals, enforce parking, and patrol.
- Escort nighttime associates if requested.
- Assist stranded motorists, using discretionary judgment for actions like changing tires or jump-starting batteries.
- Respond to medical emergencies.
- Participate in fire control and emergency evacuation teams.
- Manage building keys and security access cards.
- Assist with special events.
- Recommend security method improvements to management.
- Handle workplace threats following established procedures.
- Document and report security incidents properly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Of
- Security principles in a corporate setting.
- Security threats, trends, and emergency protocols.
- Incidents like terrorism, bomb threats, fire safety, theft, sabotage, and violence.
- Electronic security systems.
- Florida State Statutes related to security.
- Detection of dangerous substances and devices.
- Crowd management techniques.
- Life Safety standards and protocols.

- Inspecting buildings and grounds for security compliance.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with 1+ year in law enforcement, military police, or security.

Licenses/Certifications
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Class D Security License or ability to obtain within 120 days.
- CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 180 days.
Education
High School (HS)
Work Experience
13 months to 3 years in general security experience.
Certifications
First Aid/CPR/AED - Red Cross, State Driver’s License, Florida Security License.
Travel
Less than 25% travel expected.
