The Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery (ACMD) is a collaborative biomedical engineering centre accelerating the translation and commercialisation of research. The ACMD brings together clinicians, major universities, leading research institutions, and innovative healthcare companies to develop novel technologies and drive the health system’s transformation through research, collaboration and education.

The Opportunity:

Are you a people person with a flair for organisation and events? The Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery (ACMD) is seeking a proactive and personable Concierge & Events Coordinator to support our daily operations and deliver exceptional visitor and event experiences in our world-class medical research facility.

Main Activities

  • Welcome and guide visitors to ensure a professional front-of-house experience
  • Coordinate event bookings and room availability
  • Plan and manage logistics for on-site events, including amenities, catering, and AV/recording
  • Liaise with stakeholders including partner organisations, tenants, students, and suppliers
  • Manage deliveries and general enquiries (in-person, phone, email)
  • Assist with reporting maintenance issues and act as Ground Floor Fire Warden
  • Provide administrative support and ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Experience:

  • A friendly, confident communicator with a customer-first mindset
  • Experience in a concierge, events, or front-of-house role (preferred)
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with basic tech
  • A team player who can also work independently
  • Professional presentation and strong interpersonal skills
  • Be part of something meaningful – support innovation in healthcare and research
  • Flexible working arrangements – full-time or part-time/job share available
