Job summary

Chico State Enterprises is seeking a part-time, non-benefitted, hourly non-exempt staff member for the University Public Engagement concession operations. STATUS: Part-Time / Non-Benefitted / Hourly / Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION: $16.90 - $19.00per hour

DEPARTMENT: University Public Engagement (UPE)

RESIDENCY: Candidate must be a California resident. Chico State Enterprises is not a sponsoring agency for staff and management positions (i.e., H-1B Visas).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Greet customers in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner.
• Take food and beverage orders efficiently and accurately.
• Operate Clover point-of-sale (POS) systems and process cash and credit card transactions.
• Serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the concession stand and storage areas.
• Restock food and beverages as needed to minimize inventory shortages and maintain adequate supplies.
• Comply with all applicable health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
• Work collaboratively with all team members, including venue staff, to ensure smooth and efficient event operations.
• Address customer questions, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally.
• Follow sustainability practices, including recycling and composting, when available.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

• Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service is preferred.
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have strong basic math skills, with the ability to accurately process transactions and provide customers with accurate change.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to safely walk up and down stairs.

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
