Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a hands-on Concessions Manager for Mesa Convention Center in Mesa, AZ to lead all food and beverage concession operations, ensure quality service, and maintain cost controls.

You will oversee concession staff, inventory, purchasing, and event-day execution, while driving profitability and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced venue environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of management experience in similar settings, a BA, and strong financial acumen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• 1–2 years related experience and/or training; management experience in a similar venue preferred.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises concessions employees in preparation, service, and cleanup of food and beverages.
• Trains concessions staff to ensure high quality, efficient, and profitable service.
• Purchases refreshments according to demand and guest preferences.
• Directs storage, preparation, and serving by staff at stands or throughout the venue.
• Assigns concessions workers to locations as needed during events.
• Tabulates receipts and balances accounts for concessions operations.
• Inventories supplies at end of each day or designated period.
• Maintains cost controls for food and labor in line with guidelines.

About the Project/Venue

Located in downtown Mesa, Arizona, Mesa Convention Center is the largest event venue in the East Valley. The venue features nearly 40,000 square feet of flexible meeting and exhibit space, 26 breakout rooms, 40,000 square feet of outdoor function space, and an outdoor amphitheater with capacity for up to 5,000 guests. From conferences and trade shows to community gatherings, festivals, and live entertainment, Mesa Convention Center provides a versatile setting for memorable events and experiences.

About the Role

The Concessions Manager is responsible for leading all food and beverage concession operations at Mesa Convention Center, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and strong financial performance. This role oversees concession staff, inventory management, product quality, purchasing, and event-day execution while maintaining cost controls and profitability goals. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with a passion for hospitality, strong business acumen, and the ability to develop high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced event environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & OUTCOMES)

• - Supervises the concessions employees in the preparation and service of food and refreshments, as well as clean‑up
• - Assists in the training of concessions employees engaged in the preparing and cooking foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service.
• - Purchases refreshments, according to anticipated demand and familiarity with public taste in food and beverages.
• - Directs storage, preparation, and serving of refreshments by other workers at refreshment stand or circulating throughout audience.
• - Assigns concessions workers to locations.
• - Tabulates receipts and balances accounts.
• - Inventories supplies on hand at end of each day or other designated period.
• - Works within guidelines for food and labor costs.

WHAT YOU BRING (QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE)

Education and/or Experience

• - Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university
• - 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training
• - Or equivalent combination of education and experience- Previous management experience in a similar venue

Skills and Abilities

• - Demonstrated ability to control costs, generate increased revenue and manage accounts payable/receivable and financial reporting
• - Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• - Ability to function in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
• - Ability to train workers in preparation and cooking of foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service.
• - Ability to manage several direct reports
• - Knowledge of computers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

• - This role is based on site in Mesa, AZ
• - You may be required to work a non traditional schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
