Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a Concession Cashier at Mohegan Arena @ Casey Plaza to sell concession menu items and process transactions using the POS system. The role requires accuracy in cash handling and top-notch customer service.

Responsibilities include taking orders, ringing sales, assisting with setup/cleanup, and ensuring safe handling of alcohol and food items. Flexible event-based hours are expected.

Responsibilities

• Set up concession stand and portable locations before events.
• Take guests' food orders, assemble orders and cash out via POS.
• Handle credit card transactions and maintain accurate cash handling.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell items.
• Assist with stand breakdown and cleanup; maintain clean counters.
• Check IDs for alcohol, refuse service to intoxicated patrons.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB TITLE: Concession Cashier

REPORTS TO: Concession Supervisors

FLSA: Part-Time, Hourly/Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for selling concession menu items at the concession stands or portable concession locations using the POS system.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the setup of the concession stand or portables before the event and helps in food prep, i.e., filling pretzel warmers, wrapping or traying hot dogs, setting up the condiment stations, icing down soda towers, and any other duties as requested
• Takes guests' food orders, assembles order, and cashes out the transaction using the POS system
• Handles credit card transactions while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures at all times, ringing all sales into the register
• Provides great customer service by interacting with patrons in a pleasant and professional manner
• Tries to up sell all customer orders
• Helps with the stand break down and clean up upon closing, i.e., cleaning condiment counter, wiping down front counter and equipment
• Checks IDs for alcoholic beverage sales and refuses service to all visibly intoxicated patrons
• Performs other tasks as assigned

Event day contact with the Concession Stand Supervisor, Food & Beverage and Arena Staff, and Arena Guests

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

This position requires stooping and lifting, substantial standing and walking. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs to the waist

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works primarily behind a concession stand or portable location using the POS system

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Must possess basic math ability to accurately count inventory and handle money; must pass a HireRight Background Check in compliance with company policy
• Must possess knowledge of credit card operations and/or inventory management systems
• Must possess knowledge of basic food preparation and food handling procedures
• Must possess the ability to follow directions and effectively perform the necessary work
• Must possess the ability to lift up to 30 pounds to the waist and stand for long periods of time
• Must possess a positive attitude and a clean, neat appearance
• Must possess the ability to work hours as dictated by events
• Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, work as a team, and have reliable transportation
• Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Must practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and complete any company-wide safety training and any additional job specific training
