Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years in COMSEC operations, with 3+ years in leadership.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI access and a CI polygraph.
• Experience managing lifecycle of COMSEC equipment and keying material.
• Experience with COMSEC accounting systems (DIAS, LCMS) for inventory control.
• Ability to lead dispersed teams and coordinate on-site/remote work centers.
• Strong communication of technical and operational requirements across boundaries.

Job Overview

Aurex is seeking aCOMSEC Operations Lead to lead a geographically dispersed team of Communications Security (COMSEC) operational work centers and oversee the lifecycle management of COMSEC equipment and keying material.

In this role, you will combine technical expertise with operational leadership to coordinate daily execution, resolve issues, and maintain accountability for sensitive assets. You will serve as a central point of coordination across work centers and partner organizations, helping ensure COMSEC resources are available, properly safeguarded, and aligned with mission requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead distributed operations. Provide day-to-day functional leadership across geographically dispersed COMSEC work centers, aligning priorities, coordinating task assignments, and monitoring execution.
• Manage lifecycle requirements. Identify, track, and coordinate requirements for COMSEC equipment and keying material throughout their operational lifecycle.
• Oversee logistics and accountability. Direct COMSEC account management activities and coordinate logistics support to maintain accurate inventories, asset accountability, and proper safeguarding.
• Coordinate keying material delivery and handling. Oversee electronic key delivery and the physical handling, storage, and distribution of COMSEC equipment and keying material.
• Resolve operational issues. Coordinate across work centers and organizations to address execution challenges, elevate unresolved concerns, and communicate priorities and status.
• Provide technical guidance. Serve as a COMSEC subject matter expert, helping teams apply established procedures consistently and supporting effective coordination across the COMSEC enterprise.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years of COMSEC operations experience, including 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI access and a CI polygraph.
• Demonstrated experience managing the lifecycle of COMSEC equipment and keying material, including electronic key delivery and physical equipment and key handling.
• Experience using COMSEC accounting systems, such as DIAS or LCMS, to support inventory control and asset accountability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and coordinate on-site and remote work center operations.
• Ability to communicate technical and operational requirements clearly, resolve problems, and collaborate across organizational boundaries.

The salary range for this role is $150,000–$190,000 annually.
