Job summary

Canvas is seeking a highly experienced COMSEC specialist to support developmental weapon systems, including telemetry, secure voice, data encryption, and ALCM FGT operations. You will manage COMSEC assets, load cryptographic keys for test missions, and ensure compliance with NSA/DoD regulations.

In this role, you will oversee equipment calibration and inspections, set up FGT test suites, coordinate range resources, and provide on-site guidance to cross-functional teams to maintain mission

Qualifications

• Extensive COMSEC experience, including handling cryptographic materials per NSA/DoD regulations (e.g., AFMAN 17-1302-O, CNSSI).
• Hands-on key loading and secure test data support for weapon programs.
• Mechanical ability with electronic test equipment, range scheduling, and multi-stakeholder coordination.
• Proven ability to maintain strict accountability for high-value, classified assets.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills with zero-defect mindset.
• Ability to adapt to emergent, mission-driven requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary advisor for COMSEC assets across telemetry, secure voice, and data encryption for high-priority programs.
• Load COMSEC keys prior to and during test missions for secure operations.
• Oversee inspections, calibrations, and certifications on FGT equipment and coordinate on-site activities.
• Set up FGT equipment, schedule range resources, coordinate visitors, and conduct tests to meet milestones.
• Manage COMSEC lifecycle including shipments, transfers, and destruction reports.
• Perform semi-annual and formal COMSEC inspections and maintain asset locations with zero-defect prep.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve equipment shortfalls and publish updated test plans.
