Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Computerized Tomography Scanner Technologist (CT) in the CT Department.

Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $20,000 based on relevant years of experience.

As a Computerized Tomography Technologist, you will have the opportunity to experience new technologies, learn and perform advanced imaging skills, and participate in various aspects of research studies and clinical trials. The Computerized Tomography Scanner Technologist performs diagnostic imaging studies as assigned, applies principles of radiation protection, exercises professional judgment in the performance of imaging procedures, and provides necessary patient care during the course of imaging procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs imaging duties as assigned
  • Positions the patient being tested to ensure that proper image capture is achieved
  • Selects proper technical factors
  • Utilizes computer to record patient status
  • Functions proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality
  • Assists physician in performing imaging studies
  • Prepares contrast media for administration to patients and assists the physician
  • Maintains technical imaging equipment to be in proper working condition
  • Reports malfunctioning equipment or housekeeping issues to appropriate person
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and neat
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of all necessary supplies

CT Technologist Required Qualifications

  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology technology training in an AMA approved school
  • Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required
  • Current registry by ARRT within 12 months of hire date
  • Advanced CT certification required (Open to New Graduates)
  • Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA)
  • CPR training required
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
