Job summary

Mill is seeking a Computer Vision Intern in a hybrid role based in San Bruno, CA. You will work with the CV team on dataset curation, model training, and production-ready tooling, delivering real-world impact on food waste prevention solutions.

You will be mentored by senior engineers and gain hands-on experience deploying to devices and users while collaborating across data and engineering teams in a fast-moving company.

Qualifications

• Pursuing (or recently completed) degree in computer vision, ML, robotics or related field.
• Strong Python programming and hands-on experience with a DL framework.
• Solid grounding in modern computer vision (detection, segmentation, representation learning).
• Experience training/evaluating models on real datasets; comfortable with real-world data.
• Interest in translating research into practical, shipped systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve CV models for material and food recognition.
• Curate, explore, QA large image/video datasets; surface issues.
• Develop and scale training pipelines and experiment tracking to ensure reproducibility.
• Design and run model evaluations to measure progress.
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to move results to production.
• Document methods and share findings with the team.
