Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) invites applications for a Computer Science/Engineering intern to support activities at the Hampton, VA location. The role focuses on applying CNNs/ViTs to enhance degraded imagery during lunar landing, with remote options available and an internship period from Sep 8, 2026, to Dec 18, 2026.

Pay ranges from $23.10 to $33.50 per hour depending on education and location. Candidates must be pursuing a degree in physics, CS, or engineering and be willing to work

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in physics, computer science, or engineering.
• Experience applying CNNs/ViTs to image processing using PyTorch.
• Familiarity with PSI scattering physics.

Responsibilities

• Apply computer vision (CNNs/ViTs) to improve imagery during lunar landing.
• Iterate designs based on team feedback (GN&C, mechanical, flight test).
• Produce engineering drawings and configuration-controlled CAD packages.
• Develop reports, presentations, and other documentation with clear comments.
• Attend meetings, teleconferences, and workshops as needed.
