Job summary

Archer is seeking an embedded perception engineer in San Jose, CA to develop the onboard perception stack and fuse sensor data for real-time, embedded deployment on aerospace-grade compute. You will design and implement deep-learning and classical CV algorithms for object detection and precision landing.

You will calibrate sensors, perform multi-sensor fusion, and optimize performance while collaborating with navigation, controls, and hardware teams to integrate outputs into the broader system.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in computer vision and/or machine learning with a degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with deep-learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorRT) and classical CV (OpenCV).
  • Experience processing lidar and/or radar point-cloud data.
  • Experience with sensor calibration and multi-sensor fusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to take algorithms from concept through real-time, embedded deployment.

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What you'll do

Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience deploying perception models on NVIDIA Jetson / CUDA-based embedded platforms
  • Experience with precision or automated landing systems
  • Background in subscale aircraft, robotics, or vehicle perception
