Job summary

Terrestris Global Solutions in Toms River, NJ is seeking a Computer Tomography (CT) Technologist to support the Veteran community. This is a full-time on-site role at 1051 Hooper Avenue.

You will perform CT procedures, prepare contrast, transfer images to PACS, ensure image quality, and participate in credentialing and onboarding with VA processes. Requirements include ARRT CT certification, BLS/ACLS, and authorization to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the U.S. permanently without sponsorship.
• Certification in CT and Diagnostic X-ray (ARRT) required.
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT protocols.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Transfer patients to radiographic table and prepare procedures.
• Prepare contrast materials and administer IV contrast as needed.
• Acquire CT exams, ensure image quality and attach correct labels.
• Transfer images to PACS and verify complete study, maintain QA.
• Support credentialing and VA onboarding processes as needed.

What does a typical day look like for the Computer Tomography (CT) Technologist?

You will:

• Transfer patients from stretcher or wheelchair to radiographic table.
• Prepare the room, equipment, and materials needed for patient procedures.
• Prepare oral and injectable contrast and other chemical mixtures as necessary.
• Insert catheter needles in patients receiving intravenous (IV) contrast for CT exam.
• Follow prescribed protocols required to perform procedures.
• Observe patients during procedures and report complications or unusual events.
• Perform all technical aspects of computerized integrated components of all CT studies. Transfer selected images to the current Picture Archiving and Communication System (PAC), such as Philips IntelliSpace Radiology, and verify the arrival of the complete and accurate images.
• Be responsible for the quality assurance of the image such as positioning, label, technique, and network information.
• Send emergent studies after hours to offsite National Teleradiology Program assuring proper form is completely filled out.
• Assure completion of required forms associated with patient exams, credit of patient visits, complications and/or quality improvement activities of Imaging Service.
• Perform daily maintenance of head and body phantoms, such as changing water, cleaning, and removing air bubbles.
• Perform daily cleaning of equipment as indicated by infection control standards.
• Administer contrast material, under the direction of the Radiologist, according to protocols.
• Check and make minor adjustments to equipment such as setting wedges or changing adjusters
• Maximize patient throughput by contact with escorts, ward clerks, nursing personnel, and staff physicians.
• Maintain a clean work area and adequate level of supplies within their assigned rooms at all times.
• Provide training to lower-grade employees, student radiographers, and residents from affiliated programs and facilitate the attainment of established program objectives.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

• Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
• Certification in Computed Tomography and Diagnostic X-ray with the ARRT.
• Computed Tomography (CT) requires specific knowledge of cross-sectional human anatomy and its application in spiral and/or multi-slice computer tomography, inclusive of 3-D reconstruction scans, including drainages, biopsies, and peripheral vascular examinations.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Previous experience with the VA is a plus

If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
