Job Title: Teacher

Job Status: Permanent/Full Time

Job Description:

St. Matthew School is seeking an elementary school Computer Teacher who will begin in August 2024 for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. The teacher is expected to create a classroom environment that reflects and promotes the mission of St. Matthew School and to work collaboratively with others on the team and school staff to promote the general well-being of each student and the school community.

Education and Experience
• Have a Bachelor’s degree in educational technology or in a specialized ETS course of study; AND
• Within three years of appointment to the position, have a current and valid state or national certificate in Educational Technology or an equivalent; AND
• Maintain recency-of-credit (six college credits or its equivalent) every five years.
• Have experience teaching elementary school, preferred; AND
• Have skill with utilizing a variety of effective instructional and classroom management techniques, preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan lessons to coordinate with the classroom teacher
• Plan lessons in keeping with the events of the school or season
• Select and use various programs that improve typing skills, computer and academic subject matter (ex: math)
• Provide instruction in word processing and PowerPoint; computer technology, hardware, and file management
• Teach technology usage and coding
• Use technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration
• Work directly with colleagues in the development, implementation, and evaluation of technology initiatives and curriculum
• Spearhead and troubleshoot technology acquisitions and maintenance
• Participate in special activities, organization, and events as assigned
• Supervise children outside of the classroom as assigned
