Our programs support multiple Federal agencies, including the Department of Defense. We are seeking a Computer Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to support our customer’s operations in Fort Belvoir, VA. This effort provides our Government customer with cloud enterprise support services. This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzes organizational business needs in terms of information technology systems requirements.
• Develops information technology systems that will provide system capabilities required for projected workloads, and plans
• Develops layout and installation of new system or modification of existing system.
• Confers within the organization with various managers and staff to obtain information on limitations and capabilities of existing system and capabilities required for information technology requirements of the future.
• Evaluates factors such as number of departments serviced by data processing equipment, reporting formats required, volume of transactions, time requirements and cost constraints, and need for security and access restrictions to determine hardware configurations.
• Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan layout for type of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and system that will provide capability for proposed project or work load, efficient operation, and effective use of allotted space.
• May enter data into computer terminal to store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
• May specify power supply requirements and configuration.
• May recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, and humidity in area of system installation.
• May specialize in one area of system application or in one type or make of equipment.
• May train users to use new or modified equipment.
• May monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• US Citizenship
• Active Secret Clearance

Required Experience:

• Minimum five (5) years related experience, maximum ten (10) years related experience
• BS degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics; minimum three years of experience designing and implementing information management systems may substitute for academic degree.
• Minimum of five years of experience designing and implementing information management systems.
• Minimum of five years of experience in product development, requirements generation, and testing methodologies, including direct control and responsibility over subordinate engineers working requirements, design, implementation, and testing of distributed cloud applications and services.
• Minimum of five years of development, implementation, and administration of multi-tenant, enterprise web-based solutions using automated processes and tools to perform system availability and integrity monitoring, validate security and configuration compliance, and ensure sensitive data protection.
• Minimum of five years of experience with commercial cloud service providers engineering solutions in a Linux and Windows multi-tenant environment on commercial cloud services (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, and / or if needed for the new CSPs).

Education and Certifications:

• A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university
