Job summary

Barbaricum is seeking a Computer Systems Administrator I to support DoD mission and training IT environments. The role focuses on Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization, and infrastructure monitoring across on‑prem and cloud-based platforms.

You will collaborate with cyber, network, and engineering teams to maintain system performance and security. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience with enterprise systems, cloud and hypervisor technologies (VMware, KVM, Xen).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with computer systems.
• Experience with Windows enterprise and Linux server environments.
• Experience with cloud, physical, and virtual network infrastructure.
• Expertise with VMware, KVM, and Xen hypervisors.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server environments.
• Administer physical, virtual, and cloud-based infrastructure to ensure availability and security.
• Manage user accounts and system configurations with routine maintenance.
• Monitor system health and performance of infrastructure components.
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Xen) for scalable environments.
• Assist with deployments, patches, and configuration changes across enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, and engineering teams on operations.
• Develop and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Support incident response and troubleshooting to ensure mission readiness.
• Ensure compliance with DoD standards and organizational policies.
