Job summary

DataPath, Inc. seeks a Senior Computer System Engineer / Architect to design, implement, document, and maintain secure IP networks for worldwide DoD communications and reach-back connectivity between CONUS and OCONUS theaters.

The role covers CCNP-level network design, VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and ACLs, along with Windows/Linux administration, STIG hardening, RMF controls, and incident response within tight SLAs.

Qualifications

• Requires CCNP-level networking experience in DoD environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, document, and maintain IP networks for reach-back connectivity between CONUS and OCONUS theaters.
• Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and ACLs across switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Administer Windows and Linux systems, including patching, hardening, backup/recovery, and log review.
• Implement system and network security per STIGs and RMF controls; document configurations.
• Support incident resolution, surge/rapid-response tasks, and SLAs.

We specialize in enabling complex communication networks that are critical to the operations of the Department of Defense, Civilian Government, and commercial markets.SummaryDataPath, Inc. is seeking a Senior Computer System Engineer / Architect to design, implement, document, and maintain secure IP networks that sustain worldwide DoD network communications and reach-back connectivity between CONUS and OCONUS theaters.Roles and Responsibilities:Network Engineering & OperationsDesign, implement, document, and maintain IP networks that provide reach-back connectivity between CONUS and OCONUS theaters and supported headquarters.Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure at the CCNP level: VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewall rules, and ACLs across switches, routers, and firewalls.Support operations and maintenance of transmission, satellite, and terrestrial communications systems to sustain 100% mission readiness.Systems AdministrationAdminister Windows and Linux systems, including patching, hardening to DISA STIGs, account and group policy management, backup and recovery, and log review.Security & DocumentationImplement system and network security measures in accordance with STIGs and RMF controls.Document configurations and maintain accurate network and system records.Support & ResponseWork incident and service queues, resolving issues within established SLAs.Support surge and rapid-response requirements, including short-notice contingency taskings.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent demonstrated experience accepted in lieu of a degree.Minimum 5 years designing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining IP networks in complex DoD environments.Strong Windows/Linux administration, including STIG hardening, group policy, backup/recovery, and log review.Hands-on network skills at the CCNP level or better across switches, routers, and firewalls.Demonstrated experience implementing STIG/RMF security controls and documenting configurations.Required certification — DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline.
