Job summary

DataPath, Inc. seeks a Senior Computer System Engineer / Architect to design, implement, document, and maintain secure IP networks that sustain worldwide DoD network communications and reach-back connectivity between CONUS and OCONUS theaters.

You will work across Network Engineering & Operations, Systems Administration, Security & Documentation to ensure 100% mission readiness and robust security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience accepted.
• 5+ years designing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining IP networks in complex DoD environments.
• DoD 8570 IAT II baseline certification required; one of Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or CND; CCNP required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, document, and maintain IP networks providing reach-back connectivity between CONUS and OCONUS theaters and supported HQs.
• Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure at CCNP level: VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewall rules, and ACLs; across switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Administer Windows and Linux systems, including patching, hardening to DISA STIGs, account and group policy management, backup/recovery, and log review.
• Implement system and network security measures in accordance with STIGs and RMF controls.
• Document configurations and maintain accurate network and system records.
• Work incident queues, resolve issues within SLAs; support surge and rapid-response tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

Network Engineering & Operations

• Design, implement, document, and maintain IP networks that provide reach-back connectivity between CONUS and OCONUS theaters and supported headquarters.
• Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure at the CCNP level: VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewall rules, and ACLs across switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Support operations and maintenance of transmission, satellite, and terrestrial communications systems to sustain 100% mission readiness.

Systems Administration

• Administer Windows and Linux systems, including patching, hardening to DISA STIGs, account and group policy management, backup and recovery, and log review.

Security & Documentation

• Implement system and network security measures in accordance with STIGs and RMF controls.
• Document configurations and maintain accurate network and system records.

Support & Response

• Work incident and service queues, resolving issues within established SLAs.
• Support surge and rapid-response requirements, including short-notice contingency taskings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent demonstrated experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 5 years designing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining IP networks in complex DoD environments.
• Strong Windows/Linux administration, including STIG hardening, group policy, backup/recovery, and log review.
• Hands‑on network skills at the CCNP level or better across switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Demonstrated experience implementing STIG/RMF security controls and documenting configurations.
• Required certification — DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline. Must hold one of: CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or CND.
• Required certification — Cisco CCNP.
