Job summary

FGS LLC is a DoD contractor recruiting a senior systems engineer with TS/SCI clearance to address DoD and IC challenges for Navy and Special Operations Forces. You will lead and mentor a team while applying computer science principles to automate, improve security, and optimize networks.

Requirements include a Master's Degree (or Bachelor's with 4 years of experience), a professional certification, and prior team leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Engineering or engineering discipline; Computer science or IT discipline; Technical discipline required.
• Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of additional work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree.
• At least one current professional-level technical certification (Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Red Hat Linux; or CSSLP, MCSD App Builder).
• Experience leading a team of computer specialists, scientists, or technicians preferred.

Job Description

Apply computer science principles to address technical and operational challenges for a DoD contractor supporting the U.S. Navy and Special Operations Forces. Assess mission needs, user requirements, existing procedures, and system limitations to identify opportunities for automation and improvements to DoD and Intelligence Community systems and networks. Evaluate commercial software for suitability, establish project plans and execution controls, and provide technical leadership and oversight to specialists, scientists, and technicians as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems by applying knowledge of computer science principles in order to implement and improve DoD/IC computer systems and networks.
• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially-available software.
• Responsible for developing project plans, guidelines, and controls.
• May act as team or project leader, supervising and advising with respect to the work of other computer specialists, scientists, or technicians.

Required Qualifications

• Required certification: At least one (1) current professional-level technical certification (excludes intro or associate levels). Applicable vendors/areas include: Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Red Hat Linux; or programming certifications, such as C / C++ Professional Programmer, Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) App Builder.
• At least one (1) year of experience as a team leader

Desired Qualifications

• Multiple of the afore mentioned professional Level Certifications.
