SALARY: 2024 $59,648 NYS Retirement; Health, Dental, Vision Benefits; Paid time off; CSEA Union; Yearly increases

LOCATION: City of Saratoga Springs - City Hall

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following must be met and clearly detailed on the application:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and ONE (1) YEAR full-time experience in computer hardware/software maintenance, installation, and network/VMWare configuration; OR
• Graduation with an Associate’s Degree in related field and THREE (3) YEARS full-time experience; OR
• High school diploma or equivalency and FIVE (5) YEARS full-time experience in similar work.

NOTE:

• VMWare certification can substitute for one year of experience.
• Network Administration or APLUS certificates can substitute for one year of experience.

SPECIAL NOTE:

• If operating automotive equipment for installation/testing/diagnostics, a valid NYS Driver’s License is required.
• Applicants must undergo a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and possibly a polygraph. Failure may disqualify.

DUTIES: This role involves coordinating computer activities in the Department of Public Safety, providing staff support, equipment installation, and maintenance of local and wide area networks. The work is under the supervision of the Police Chief and Microcomputer Systems Manager. Supervision of others is not a responsibility.
