Job summary

Kiakahi LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Computer Operator Support Specialist to join our team supporting a large government client. The role maintains IT compliance through deployments, patching, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of Windows 10+ laptops and desktops and associated peripherals.

You will use Active Directory tools, SCCM, remote access, and collaboration apps; assist during briefings, and work with multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years desktop administration experience preferred.
• Must possess IT I level certification IAW AR 25-2 and IAT II per DoD 8570.01-M.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; occasional company vehicle use.

Responsibilities

• Configure, diagnose, reimage, reload and repair Windows laptops/desktops (Windows Vista to Windows 10+) and peripherals.
• Configure and repair MS Office 2013 applications and Outlook components.
• Maintain and troubleshoot NCES products and Jabber IM app.
• Manage WiFi, AirCard, handheld devices, and CAC/Smart Card readers.
• Utilize Active Directory and SCCM to manage objects and remote desktops.

Job description

Kiakahi, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Computer Operator Support Specialist to join our growing team. The Computer Support Specialist works within a cohesive team environment and supports a large government client with multiple locations. It is responsible for maintaining industry and government IT compliance standards via scheduled deployments, patching management and maintaining, configuring, diagnose, reload, utilize troubleshoot and repair MS Windows based laptop and desktop loaded with Windows 10 OS and higher along with all associated peripheral devices. The Computer Support Specialist will interface with other stakeholders, generate reports and provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements.

Responsibilities (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

• Configure, diagnose, reimage, reload, utilize, troubleshoot and repair all MS Windows based laptops and desktops loaded with Windows vista and Windows 10 OS and all associated peripheral devices.
• Configure, diagnose, reload, utilize troubleshoot and repair all MS Windows Office 2013 applications with a good understanding of Outlook and related components.
• Configure, diagnose, reload, utilization troubleshoot and repair all NCES products.
• Configure, diagnose, reload, utilization troubleshoot and repair all Jabber Instant Messaging (IM) applications.
• Configure, diagnose, reload, utilization troubleshoot and repair all WiFi and AirCard applications and wireless services.
• Configure, diagnose, reload, utilization troubleshoot and repair all handheld devices and hand held device Common Access Card (CAC) Smart Card readers.
• Utilize Active Directory tools to manage and create objects in MS Server.
• Utilize remote tools to connect to remote desktops. Applications include SCCM.
• Assist users during briefings and events with all collaborative tools such as Google Earth, Defense Cyber Operations (DCO) Connect Online, Jabber, Portals, and alert systems.">
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements Education / Experience / Certifications

• High School/GED
• 3-5 years of experience in desktop administration preferred
• Must possess and maintain an IT I level certification IAW AR 25-2 and an IAT II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Occasional use of a company vehicle while on work site

Knowledge

• Have an In-depth knowledge of the most recent version of MS OS, MS Office applications (e.g., Win10, MS Office Suite 2013), and other common desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Tumbleweed, etc. and ability to quickly learn unique GOTS applications.
• Have excellent customer service skills; project a positive image and professional manner always; ability to work within the confines of a set time schedule.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently.
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills and apply them as needed.
• Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.

Security Clearance: Position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. Must be a US citizen.

Location: Austin TX

Physical Requirements:Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
