Responsibilities

This position involves developing test procedures and programs for Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) Bench Test Equipment (BTE) platforms. The role includes writing and integrating test software based on specifications for troubleshooting CBTC systems.

Responsibilities include installation, testing, review, development, documentation, troubleshooting hardware/software, and supporting vendor and internal teams during commissioning.

Education and Experience

**Computer Associate I-III (Software):**

  1. Baccalaureate degree with 24 credits in computer science or related field + 1 year full-time software experience, OR
  2. High school diploma + 5 years full-time software experience, OR
  3. Equivalent education/experience. College credits/substitutions may apply.

**Computer Specialist I-IV (Software):**

  1. Baccalaureate degree with 24 credits + 2 years experience, including 1 year as a project leader or major contributor, OR
  2. High school diploma + 6 years experience, including 1 year as a project leader or major contributor, OR
  3. Equivalent education/experience. Master’s degree or technical certificates may substitute for experience.

Special Note: To qualify for Assignment Level IV, an additional year of experience as a project leader or major contributor is required.

Desired Skills

  • Understanding of CBTC operating principles, including onboard and wayside systems.
  • Experience with test equipment: Protocol Analyzers, Network Analyzers, RF, communications.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Microsoft platforms.
  • Knowledge of software applications: MS Office, Libre Office, schematic capture, National Instruments, LabView, LabWindows, PL/SQL, Java, HTML, Spear.
  • System and device management: networking, Echelon LON, Ethernet, serial, CAN, TCP/IP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Other Information: Annual financial disclosure may be required if salary exceeds $105,472.
