JT4, LLC, a defense contractor supporting the U.S. Air Force, Space Force and Navy, seeks a Computer Scientist I to join a project team and provide software and systems engineering services.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related experience (or a master’s), CompTIA Security+ within 6 months, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Salary ranges from $123,000 to $140,000 with comprehensive benefits.

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under general supervision, a Computer Scientist I provide software and systems engineering services, typically as a member of a work unit or group.

Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:

• Advise team and project managers on technical problems
• Interact with customers and project managers on a regular basis
• Use judgment and initiative in developing analytical and computational technologies and methodologies for problem solving
• Assist with the interpretation of customer requirements
• Work with team members to develop the most appropriate approach to solve technical problems
• Assist in the design of system/software and associated design documentation
• Participate in design reviews
• Implement design through software coding or hardware and appropriately document the design implementation
• Plan and execute unit, integration, and system testing
• Assist in maintenance and sustainment activities of system/software

Perform other job-related duties, as required

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

One of the following educational requirements must be met for this position:

• A bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience or amaster’s degree.

CompTIA Security Plus Certification Required or must be obtained within six months from hire date.

In addition, a Computer Scientist I must possess the following qualifications:

• Knowledge of computer-based systems and applications
• Programming skills in languages used for job-specific programming tasks
• Familiarity with systems engineering and software development lifecycles

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must possess a valid, state issued driver’s license
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
• Must be a U.S. citizen

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $123,000 to $140,000 annually.

JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.

Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
