Hiring: Computer Scientist – FPGA & Quantum Communication Systems
Location: NIST Campus, Building 222, Gaithersburg, Maryland (Onsite)
We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Scientist to support advanced research and development in FPGA-based Quantum Communication Systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in communication systems, hardware development, and simulation.
- Experience with HDL/Verilog/VHDL and FPGA development platforms.
- Solid understanding of digital communication systems and embedded hardware design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design FPGA-based Quantum Network Controller architecture.
- Develop block diagrams and hardware schematics.
- Design and implement Verilog modules.
- Build and validate accurate simulation testbeds.
- Perform functional verification and hardware testing.
- Research and evaluate TDC architectures.
- Perform performance modeling and simulation.
- Prepare analytical reports with design recommendations and results.
3. PYNQ Library Development for Quantum Communication Systems
- Design Programmable Logic (PL) and Processing System (PS) interconnect architecture.
- Develop customized PYNQ libraries for Quantum Communication applications.
- Create comprehensive user documentation and integration guides.
- Support software-hardware interface development and validation.
4. Reporting
- Prepare and submit detailed monthly progress reports.
- Document technical achievements, milestones, simulation results, and project status.
