Job Summary:
The Computer Science Department is responsible for delivering a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate computer science curriculum to students in grades two through twelve. Classes are held in dedicated computer labs, which are also available for use by students, faculty and staff during non-instructional hours. These labs are equipped with Apple computers, maintained and managed by department members for curricular needs.
The anticipated start date for this position is 9/1/2025.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach computer science curriculum across multiple grade levels as assigned.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate computer science into interdisciplinary projects.
- Contribute to the vertical alignment of a cohesive computer science curriculum, grades 2-12.
- Advocate for the role and value of computer science education across the school community.
- Maintain a clear distinction between digital device proficiency and deep understanding of computers and computing principles.
- This is a part-time 20 hour per week position.
- Uphold responsibilities and expectations defined by the Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Additional Responsibilities
Education, Experience, or Certifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Educational Computing or related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Coursework or degree that reflects multicultural content preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum two years teaching experience required.
- Minimum two years teaching computer science in a K-12 environment required.
- Experience in curriculum development preferred.
- Experience working with a wide range of students with diverse backgrounds such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, learning abilities, class, language, and nationality preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move in and around the classroom/building to interact with students, faculty, staff, parents, and other members of the community.
- Ability to move class-related equipment/tools, as appropriate, around school property
- When appropriate, the ability to escort children from one classroom to another, in and out of the building during arrival and dismissal, and in an emergency situation.
- Ability to demonstrate lessons, when appropriate.
Pay Range:
$36,216.50 - $80,503.50
