The department is based at Loyola's Lake Shore Campus and has 17 full-time faculty members serving approximately 500 undergraduate majors and minors and 120 master's students, and nine PhD students enrolled in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, and software engineering degree programs. This position involves teaching three to four cybersecurity and privacy courses per semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Topics courses and development of new courses are encouraged. The successful candidate will also engage in professional development activities as well as service at the department level or above. The successful candidate is expected to be involved in the cybersecurity club and the Loyola Center for Cybersecurity, and to mentor students participating in regional and national cybersecurity competitions.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience:
The candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field at the time of appointment. Candidates for the position must demonstrate clear potential for excellence in teaching and student mentorship. The candidate must be willing to support the mission of Loyola University Chicago and the goals of a Jesuit, Catholic education.
