Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance software tools that support manufacturing and automation processes.
  • Maintain, organize, and improve existing code libraries and applications.
  • Assist with HMI development, upgrades, and rebuild projects.
  • Support automation and process control initiatives through programming and system integration activities.
  • Create and update technical procedures, work instructions, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in troubleshooting, testing, and validation of software and automation systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Document project results and provide recommendations for future enhancements.

As a Computer Science Engineering Intern at Cleveland‑Cliffs, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern's education level and plant location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below.

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enhance software tools that support manufacturing and automation processes.
  • Maintain, organize, and improve existing code libraries and applications.
  • Assist with HMI development, upgrades, and rebuild projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in the field of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related technical degree.
  • Completion of sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
