Under supervision, performs all functions necessary to run each job to successful completion according to the operator's run schedules.

Activates job processing through online terminal, transmittal sheets, or online mainframe master console.

Continuously observes the operation of the console, storage devices, printers, and other peripheral devices to monitor the system and determine points of equipment or program failure.

Manipulates controls in accordance with standard procedures to rearrange the sequence of job steps to continue operations when individual units of the system malfunction.

Confers with proper personnel if circumstances require a change of instructions or sequence of operations.

Visually aligns forms to be printed and edits exception reports.

Delivers reports as required and replenishes operating material supplies as needed.

Cleans machinery and work area as required. Other duties may be assigned.

Success Factors - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of mainframe and AS400 system consoles, ability to monitor and detect problems, work under pressure, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of computer operation concepts, ability to understand technical language, explain problems, and prepare operating records.

Ability to work with supervision, possess good interpersonal skills, and respond quickly to technological changes.

Required Job Qualifications:

• 1 year of computer operations experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, with one year of computer coursework.
