Job summary

OKAYA INFOCOM in Fremont, CA is seeking a CNC Programmer/NC Programmer to develop and optimize programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling and turning using NX CAM, Mastercam, CATIA Manufacturing, Creo Manufacturing, or PowerMill.

You will interpret drawings and GD&T, create setup sheets, select tooling and cutting parameters, and verify programs with Vericut or NC simulators, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical/production/manufacturing engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of CNC programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of multi-axis CNC milling and turning.
• Experience with CAM software and CNC controllers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize NC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling and multi-axis machining centers.
• Generate toolpaths using CAM software such as NX CAM, Mastercam, CATIA Manufacturing, Creo Manufacturing, or PowerMill.
• Interpret drawings, 3D CAD models, specs, and GD&T requirements.
• Create setup sheets, tooling documents, machining process sheets, and operator instructions.
• Select machining strategies, tooling, cutting parameters, and sequencing.
• Validate NC programs via simulation to ensure collision-free, efficient machining.
• Support machine prove-outs and first-piece manufacturing activities.
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues in production.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Quality, and Production teams to resolve challenges.
• Review engineering changes and implement program updates as required.
• Analyze and reduce cycle times through continuous process optimization.
• Support fixture validation and tooling improvement initiatives.
• Monitor performance and recommend productivity improvements while reducing scrap.
• Ensure compliance with customer specs, quality standards, and machining best practices.
• Participate in Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain NC program libraries and related technical documentation.

• 'Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3-5 years (or as required) of experience in CNC Programming / NC Programming.
• Strong knowledge of:
• 3-Axis, 4-Axis, and 5-Axis CNC Milling
• CNC Turning and Mill-Turn Operations
• High-Speed Machining (HSM)
• Multi-Axis Machining Strategies

Experience with CAM software such as:

• Mastercam

Experience with CNC controllers such as:

• Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
