Job summary

Fill-Rite is seeking a motivated CNC Operator to join our Kansas-based Operations team. You will manufacture precision components for fuel transfer pumps, operating CNC equipment and ensuring quality, safety, and reliability.

You will monitor machine performance, perform tooling changes, inspect parts with gauges and micrometers, and maintain 5S standards while contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating Lathe and/or Mill CNC machining equipment.
  • Experience machining various types of metals.
  • Reading and following standard work instructions and production documentation.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment (gauges, micrometers).

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machining equipment to produce components that meet production and engineering specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust tooling to maintain quality and cycle times.
  • Perform tooling changes and workpiece adjustments as required.
  • Inspect finished parts using gauges, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
  • Complete production, quality and downtime documentation accurately.
  • Maintain equipment and 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Identify equipment issues and collaborate with team members to resolve production concerns.
  • Support production by assisting with other manufacturing operations as needed.

What You'll Do
  • Operate CNC machining equipment(s) to produce quality components that meet production and engineering specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and make tool or machine adjustments to maintain quality and cycle times.
  • Perform tooling changes, and workpiece adjustments as required.
  • Inspect finished parts using gauges, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure product quality.
  • Complete production, quality, and downtime documentation accurately.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Identify equipment issues and collaborate with team members to resolve production concerns.
  • Support production by assisting with other manufacturing operations as needed.
What You'll Bring

  • Experience operating Lathe and/or Mill CNC machining equipment
  • Experience machining various types metals.
  • Manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow standard work instructions and production documentation.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment, including gauges and micrometers.
  • Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements

This position is performed in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment and requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement throughout the workday. The successful candidate must be able to frequently lift up to 15 pounds, regularly handle parts weighing up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 70 pounds. The role requires good visual acuity, manual dexterity, and the ability to safely maneuver around manufacturing equipment while working with cutting fluids, coolants, adhesives, paints, sealants, and other industrial materials.
