The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University is seeking highly motivated Computer Engineers to join their Access and Evaluation Department. The role focuses on developing software and approaches for full-stack development, conducting data analysis, and visualizing data findings.

We are seeking highly motivated Computer Engineers to join our Access and Evaluation (A&E) Department within the Multimodal Sensing and Systems (MSS) Division of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State.
As part of the MSS Division, you will support our mission by focusing on nascent technologies in the areas of electromagnetics, electromagnetic maneuver warfare, quantum sciences, and sensors through cross‑division and cross‑office collaborations.
ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
Your working location will be fully onsite in State College, PA.
Depending on the level, this position may require a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science and between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience. No prior relevant work experience is required for the Professional level. No mandatory certifications are specified.
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. All positions at ARL require candidates to possess the ability to obtain a government security clearance; you will be notified during the interview process if this position is subject to a government background investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the ARL will require successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen.
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $76,700.00 – $164,000.00. The proposed salary range may be impacted by geographic differential.
