Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a CAD Technician to work with SolidWorks on pre-fabricated aluminum decks, railings, and balconies in Minnesota. You’ll translate architectural visions into detailed, buildable models and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to move projects from concept to fabrication.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in architectural technology or engineering and 2–3 years of SolidWorks experience, strong drawing interpretation skills, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent CAD experience required.
• 2–3 years SolidWorks experience with assemblies and weldments preferred.
• Strong understanding of architectural and structural drawings required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to capture design intent and attachment conditions.
• Collaborate with sales and project managers to develop preliminary and shop drawings.
• Create and revise engineering and fabrication drawings for production teams.
• Coordinate with field managers to incorporate real-world measurements and feedback.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines with precision and professionalism.
• Troubleshoot design challenges and contribute to innovative solutions.

As a CAD Technician, you’ll be at the heart of our design process, transforming architectural visions into detailed, buildable models using SolidWorks. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to bring projects from concept to fabrication.

What You Bring

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam Revu is a plus.
