The role provides mechanical designs and detailed drawing packages, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry conventions and company best practices. Ten years CAD drafting experience and expert SolidWorks/PDM knowledge are required.

Formación

• Requires an Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• Ten years of related CAD drafting experience with seven years in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM Professional.
• Three years of SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM Professional software administration experience.

Accountable for administering ABCO’s CAD and document management systems, and drawing standards for the mechanical engineering department. Able to coordinate workload with designers/drafter resources as needed. Responsible for providing mechanical designs and detailed drawing packages.

Major Accountabilities:

• Works with engineers and designers in coordinating the generation of accurate and complete engineering drawings from models, redlines, and sketches provided. Assignments are moderately complex and require the use of initiative and judgment. Drawing packages follow industry standard drawing conventions and company best practices.
• Ensures quality, cost and delivery commitments on projects are met.
• Provides expert knowledge of Solidworks® PDM Professional configuration and data management and manages vault configuration (setup, folders, moving/deleting/rollback of vault files)
• Diagnoses and solves a range of system administration issues including, but not limited to software deployment, platform interoperability, migration strategies, installation and licensing, and software performance
• Leads the development of best in class workflows and manages Solidworks® PDM Professional data migration, import, export, data mapping and reporting.
• Coordinates workload within designers/drafter resource pool as needed.
• Drives the engineering team to implement new tools, procedures, best practices, and develops programs and subroutines for enhanced usage of Solidworks and Solidworks® PDM Professional.
• Goes beyond existing knowledge base and expands our understanding, methods and procedures leaving a base for others to utilize and build upon (trail blazing).
• Checks drawings packages created prior to being submitted to manufacturing for accuracy & thoroughness.
• Manages the licenses and software support for CAD programs (SolidWorks, Solidworks® PDM Professional, AutoCad®, and Inventor®).

Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum Years of Experience Required:

• Ten (10) years of related computer-aided drafting experience; at least Seven (7) years SolidWorks® and Solidworks® PDM Professional experience.
• Three (3) years of experience in administration of Solidworks® and Solidworks® PDM Professional software administration
