Job summary

Salem Health is seeking a Computed Tomography Technologist (CT tech) for night shifts at Salem Hospital in Salem, Oregon. The role offers on-the-job paid training and exposure to a Level II Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and advanced Cardiac Program within a fast-paced imaging department.

You will perform CT exams, document patient histories, and ensure accurate records in EPIC and PACS while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an imaging technology program approved by licensing bodies.
  • Must hold Oregon OBMI radiography license.
  • Must hold ARRT radiology license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of CT exams, selecting appropriate imaging protocols.
  • When needed, gather additional patient history or perform supplemental images beyond standard protocols to support clinical diagnosis.
  • Use sound clinical judgment and patient assessment skills to adapt procedures to the patient's needs, condition, and level of cooperation.
  • Accurately document patient history, signs and symptoms, and scan details.
  • Input orders and charges into EPIC and ensure records are complete and compliant with departmental standards.
  • Safely operate all imaging equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform routine cleaning and care of equipment and report any malfunctions promptly through appropriate channels.
  • Utilize Radiant, PACS, and EPIC systems to manage orders, access prior studies, and ensure smooth workflow across imaging processes.
  • Adhere to medication reconciliation protocols and maintain stocked, organized procedure rooms.
  • Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support teamwork across the department.

Department: CT Scanning
Position Type: Full Time, 36 hours/week, Non-Exempt
Schedule: 6:30 pm - 7:00 am, Thursday - Saturday

For this role, mentorship is available to train current radiologic technologists into CT Technologists with on the job paid training.

As a CT technologist at Salem Health, you’ll be at the forefront of diagnostic imaging, where you are delivering critical insights that guide patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. Whether you're an experienced CT tech or a radiologic technologist ready to advance your career through paid, on-the-job training, you'll play a key role in supporting diverse and high-acuity cases. Trained in CT, you’ll contribute to our Level II Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and advanced Cardiac Program, helping deliver accurate, timely imaging that directly impacts patient outcomes. Your ability to think critically, adapt quickly, and uphold the highest safety and quality standards ensures that each scan contributes meaningfully to a patient’s care journey. Required qualifications
  • Graduate from an imaging technology program approved by licensing bodies.
  • Radiography license with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI).
  • Radiology license with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT).
