Summary

Provides computed tomography imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, policies, values, and the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician's orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Assist with preparation and administration of contrast media and medications within scope of practice.
• Monitor patient condition continually and respond to changes appropriately.
• Prepare equipment and supplies; select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report as necessary.
• Position patients and perform imaging procedures, resolving image quality issues.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
• Charge appropriately for supplies used.
• Take on-call shift responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• Certification: ARRT in Radiology; CT certification within 1 year of hire.
• CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• State of Florida Radiologic Technologist license.

Additional Information

Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently. No previous CT experience required; radiology technologist experience preferred. Must be registered as an RT by ARRT and in CT within 1 year of hire.

Physical and Working Conditions

Includes lifting, patient positioning, repetitive movements, and exposure to biological hazards and radiation. Shift: Evenings.
