ScionHealth is seeking an experienced CT Technologist for Kindred Hospital Chicago - Northlake to perform complex CT procedures with a focus on patient safety and high-quality imaging.

You will operate CT scanners, position patients, administer contrast, and work closely with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnostics. Prior CT experience and ARRT certifications are preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiography program.
• ARRT Radiography certification required.
• ARRT CT certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• One year of radiology or imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners and related equipment following radiation safety procedures.
• Position patients for CT procedures and immobilization as needed.
• Schedule patients for CT procedures and assist clerical tasks.
• Administer and manage oral contrast for CT scans.
• Load and operate power injections for contrast media.
• Maintain patient records and document dose and procedures.
• Assist radiologists with interventional CT procedures if applicable.
• Provide orientation and training for new CT technologists.

Kindred Hospital Chicago - Northlake is a 94-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. We are located in the city community offering a nice balance between residential and commercial area, close to Belmont Gardens.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of specialized tasks involved in the performance of CT scans.

Essential Functions

• Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients of CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment, as necessary.
• Schedule patients for procedures, assist with clerical functions.
• Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
• Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration.
• Provide care for the psychological and physical needs of patients for CT scans.
• Adheres to protocol scan length to optimize patient dose.
• Confirms patient position matches the selected scanning orientation parameters.
• Utilizes Iso centering of the anatomy of interest to optimize dose.
• Optimizes technical factors to minimize radiation exposure to the patient while maintaining diagnostic image quality.
• Uses radiation shielding devices.
• Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label.
• Records patient dose and administration of contrast medication as per policy.
• Document appropriate charging of procedures and supplies.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures if applicable.
• Provide orientation and training for new CT technologists.

Pay Range: $35.00-$52.01/hr.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited institution in Medical Radiography and/or completed and passed an approved course in Computed Tomography.

Licenses/Certifications

• ARRT certification/registration in Radiography R.T.(R) and/or computed tomography R.T.(CT) and meet qualification required by the state working in.
• Current BLS certification.

Experience

• One year of experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality preferred.
