Project Description:
The qualified candidate will be working in the IT Derivatives team designing and implementing Python solutions to Front Office applications. The applications will make use of vendor software, such as PyXLL, Xltrail, QuestDB, CityVision, and Databricks. The work will also include supporting existing applications to facilitate daily processes of the Front Office Trading Desk.
Hybrid (2-3 days a week) in Midtown NYC with salaries up to 170,000 USD depending on experience and knowledge
Responsibilities:
- Design, build and configure Python applications to meet business process and application requirements
- Work with multiple business teams including trading and quantitative analysts
- Provide work estimates as needed
- Design coding architecture
- Maintain and improve code quality using static & dynamic code analyses, security vulnerability scans, code coverage and CI/CD pipeline gating
- Participate in all phases of software delivery lifecycle from analysis through support.
Mandatory Skills Description:
- Experienced Python Developer
- Experience with Python environment installation in Windows and Linux
- Experience with any Compute platforms: Azure Databricks (preferred) / Snowflake / GCP
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and team oriented.
- Previous experience/knowledge with trading/fixed income/strats.
- Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science
Nice‑to‑Have Skills Description:
- .NET, C#
- REST API (including Enterprise Authentication and Authentication)
- MS SQL Server and/or Sybase experience
