The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Ophthalmology seeks a Computational Scientist Associate to develop computational methods and pipelines, manage HPC workflows, and analyze complex data. The role involves scripting, visualization, and documentation across research projects.

Applicants should have a Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s with two years of related experience and be proficient in Linux, SQL, and programming languages such as SAS, R, or Python.

Responsabilidades

• Processes incoming files and moves them to appropriate folders following conventions.
• Runs scripts and reviews outputs to determine next steps.
• Writes additional scripts.
• Documents status in the tracking database.
• Administers proposals and sandbox tasks; updates data as proposals progress.
• Updates Website and performs automated QA checks.
• Reviews and documents results; discusses with colleagues as needed.
• Performs administrative tasks: schedules meetings, takes notes, creates visualizations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
