Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Computational Scientist specializing in microbial metabolic modeling and simulation in Dayton, OH. You will bridge dry-lab and wet-lab efforts to design, evaluate, and optimize microbial hosts for bioproduction. Expect collaboration with AFRL scientists and integration of computational and experimental work.

Responsibilities include building GEMs, running high-throughput simulations, and refining models with experimental data to accelerate discovery and scale-up.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in relevant field or MS+2 years experience accepted.
• Experience designing and evaluating microbial metabolic networks.
• Ability to translate computational designs to experimental workflows.

Responsibilities

• Translate in silico designs to wet-lab engineering strategies.
• Reconstruct and simulate GEMs and perform FBA/MOMA analyses.
• Integrate multi-omics data to refine models and guide strain optimization.
• Refine models to reflect industrial bioprocess and pilot-scale conditions.
