Job summary

System One is seeking a Computational Scientist in Ridgefield, CT for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on developing and deploying NGS data analysis workflows, integrating multi-omics data, and delivering actionable insights for immunological disease targets and biomarkers.

The candidate should have strong bioinformatics experience, hands-on data analysis skills, and the ability to communicate results to collaborators. Onsite work with a 40-hour week is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related scientific discipline with at least 1 year of experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years in STEM.
• Experience with NGS data analysis, functional genomics, statistics for big data, or multi-omics data integration is preferred.
• Good knowledge of bioinformatics databases and file formats.
• Strong hands-on skills in programming languages (R, Python, Shiny), UNIX/Linux, shell scripting, Nextflow.
• Familiarity with computational biology tools and collaboration with computational biologists.
• Excellent written and oral communication; able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy NGS data analysis workflows for data processing, visualization, integration and mining to support target discovery and biomarker work.
• Perform data analysis across omics datasets (bulk RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, ATAC-Seq) and interpret results.
• Create and benchmark methods; define QC measures and report results.
• Automate processing and reporting; document code and processes; ensure data integrity and ethics.
