Job summary

The Kaelber lab, located in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry on Rutgers' Busch Campus, is seeking a co-adjutant scientific programmer to contribute to research support in computational evolutionary biology.

The role involves devising, implementing, and executing computational experiments; contributing to code repositories; and collaborating with students and postdocs to advance AI methods, protein structure encodings, and benchmarking.

Qualifications

• B.S. or B.A. in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in computational sciences.
• Experience with HPC environments (SLURM and Torque).
• Experience with at least two programming languages including Python.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing AI methods for evolutionary biology.
• Implement and run computational experiments.
• Contribute to code repositories and documentation.
• Collaborate with students, postdocs, and other group members.
