Job summary

Walter P Moore is seeking a Computational Designer to lead digital workflows and data-driven approaches across multiple projects. You will collaborate with structural engineers on high-impact work and drive firm-wide digital initiatives with a team of computational design specialists.

The role emphasizes strong communication, continuous learning, and the ability to work across offices with diverse interdisciplinary teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in developing and applying advanced digital workflows in the AEC industry.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • Understanding of BIM as a process and concepts of parametric modeling, computational design, and interoperability.
  • Expert knowledge of Rhinoceros and Grasshopper.
  • Experience using Revit with project teams in professional settings.
  • Ability to communicate visually with data visualizations, diagrams, and 3D renderings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and deployment of digital workflows via code and visual scripting.
  • Assist in the development of BIMs and model-related deliverables.
  • Develop, communicate, and maintain scripting and modeling standards across the Structural Engineering project delivery teams.
  • Develop and maintain online documentation around the latest digital practices across the firm.
  • Assist in the training of staff on the latest digital tools and standards being applied on projects.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in project delivery related to technology and data-driven processes.
  • Develop visuals for communicating with clients and project teams to inform better design decisions.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and their application to our projects.
